Embarking upon 2012 {a “not so much” year in review}

Standard

As if it hasn’t been obvious; I’ve been a bit quiet lately. I guess I was sorta taking an “unofficial” break.

For many reasons.

I began to feel as if my writing wasn’t good enough. I read some great blogs, and even though I know better….I compared myself to them.
(Here is where I will throw out a quick thank you to Joy for encouraging me to write naked)

I doubted my ability to minister to others…… I mean, how does one positively influence wives, moms, and other peeps for Christ when her own life is so Un-together?

  • My kids aren’t perfect…{gasp, I know} Ok, I don’t really expect perfect, but truly I feel like an absolute failure sometimes. My 16 year old has had a girlfriend for like 7 months, and I’ve gotten to meet her like 4 times. He just will not bring her around. I feel like he hates us. My 13 yr old was recently hospitalized for some poor choices he made; which led to diagnosis’ of ADHD, ODD, and depression….as if being 13 wasn’t challenging enough.
  • I’m not on. my. knees. daily as I should be….fully seeking the face of God. I have really been a little more talk than action. How can I ask God to move on my behalf if I’m not moving on my own? I also have a tendency to conger up an idea of how things “should” be in life, in marriage, in parenting, and in faith and when things aren’t in such a way….I shut down, don’t share it, I just get ugly to those close to me for being at fault for our Un-together image.
  • My husband and I see eye to eye on VERY few things: Important things like discipline, parenting, finances, schooling,  ministry, etc.  A-top of that he also has severe ADHD (untreated) which can sometimes often times make communication very difficult.                                                                                                                                              {BUT…..We both Adore Jesus, Adore each other, and Adore our children, so the rest is up to God to change our hearts to match….right? right!}
So, I’ve set some resolutions Goals for 2012, and I would like to share them with you, elaborate on them a bit, and then of course….ask for your guidance along the way.

2012 Goals

For the sake of losing you in the length of my elaboration…..I have decided to break each goal down into a post each day of the first week for 2012!
(Your Welcome…;)

I hope you will join me!

So here’s to saying Goodbye to 2011 and Hello to embracing 2012 with wide open arms!

In Christ~

  5. I say write for yourself! After all isn’t that why you started?

    Will be praying for some positive changes for your family for the new year! I just remember how hard those years of becoming independent and breaking away from you parents and family were.
