A Day in the Life…..of me!

Standard

Yay!!!  So, I decided to participate in this link up called “A day in the Life of….2012” over at Simply Rebekah.  An hour by hour snapshot of your day. I have to say, it was quite interesting….:)

Ready for Lots and Lots of pics….?

Now, I should begin by confessing, that I chose this day 2 days ahead of time, because I worked Tuesday, and well…I thought it might be odd to take pictures during evening church service on Wed…and well, it’s hour by hour….and I’m sorta anal that way; that it would have to be done RIGHT! Anyway….My days are RARELY this “together”…
Perhaps I should have the thought that the whole world will be seeing it unfold in the back of my head more often.. 😉

Without further a due….

Yes, the alarm clock says 5:24…
in reality it’s really 5:01am Yes, I am one of those that sets my clock ahead…as if I’m not aware of what I have done, and use it as a crutch to hit snooze and Additional 3 times…. This morning though, RIGHT up, out of bed, camera in hand and ready to go…..(really, THAT’S what motivated me..?)

5:54 am
Sometimes, when I’m “on top of my game” I awake early, and dive into prayer and study (and boy does it make a difference in my day) BUT…due to a recent basement flood, there was a teenager on the couch, so I had to forgo the table where I really sit (I don’t think he would have appreciated getting up quite as early as mom) I then discovered that we were out of coffee beans, so I whipped up a cup of instant (tolerable) and headed back to my bed…..to study. And there it is….although perhaps I should have wandered the living area longer so that at photo time I could have snapped one of the 18 yr old sleeping….surely it would have brought more enjoyment.

7:00am on the dot
I have now figured out I should set the alarm on my phone to remind me of the hour. Please understand that I rarely make breakfast for my boys…(like maybe once a week…..or two) Not because I don’t want to, my time is literally consumed by unsuccessfully waking up 3 very sleepy boys in the mornings (the others wake well on their own) For some strange reason they awoke so well today, I had time to make breakfast. It was just going to be a quick pan of scrambled eggs, but I remembered the loaf of bread that had been sitting a few days…. I seriously cracked an egg and mindlessly emptied it right into the garbage at the very moment the phone went off….lol!

8:01am
My sweet hubby took the boys to school, so here I am pasted in front of facebook getting my morning fix. cup of instant #3

9:00am
Keeping on the roll of productivity, I actually wrote a post this morning….you can find it here if you want 😉 I usually try to write at night, when I’m too tired to write…which is why there is often gaps in my posts (why haven’t I figured that out yet?)

10:03am
I love to bake. Well I used to, when I was a stay at home mom…for many years I became un-domesticated bitter because I now have to work outside the home, and I didn’t do a whole lot of creative things in the kitchen. (that’s an entirely different post topic) But I’m growing up now, and learning to enjoy it again. But I have never baked banana bread. I tried a couple times….6 boys in the house, the bananas never sit long enough to make it. So I snatched these (with permission) from work…and I’m gonna be a baking machine today…:)

11:01
Ah…Laundry, it’s always there…no matter what! Not much to describe here…..laundry is self explanatory to any mother…right?

12:01 p.m
Just sitting down to work out of these 2 books…Real Marriage is a Marriage Bible study that I am doing a review on for Booksneeze. Hubby and I are doing it together, so I was typing the questions from the chapter out so we could answer them. The other is a Leadership workbook for a class we are taking at church…we didn’t have our book the 1st couple classes, so I borrowed pastors answer copy to transcribe and catch us up!

1:00p.m
Just sat my hunny’s lunch in front of him. He was SO pleased that I was taking HIS picture for my blog post…. xoxo

2:14p.m
I forgot to advance the alarm last time…. Yes, it’s Feb 9th on the day of the snap shot…and I am just now updating the Calender for February. I’m actually pretty strict on this…not sure what happened…..
oh wait!……Life happened 😉

3:01p.m
The fine hour at the end of the day that I get to pick up my boys from school….:)

4:08p.m
Ok, I cheated here, the alarm went off at 4, but I wanted to wait until he came out the doors…THIS would be what a photo looks like of picking your son up from detention. (detention for skipping swimming….#1 I believe detentions are over rated….#2 this whole swimming thing has really spun out….oh wait, those too are topics for another post…lol)

5:02 p.m
Making dinner, not normally this early, but the 18yr old has to be to work at 6…so, I gotta get movin’
grilled chicken salad with garlic bread…so simple, and so yummy. I’m kinda sad I had to eat it so fast!

 6:01p.m
At the light, to take the boy to work. If I could have captured the look on the boys face….lol!
Now, it’s no shocker to see mom taking pics (I annoy them often with my camera) my to randomly pull it out and snap the traffic light…..funny stuff!
Brandon: “Why did you just take a picture of the traffic light?
Me: (while laughing) “It’s for a blog post I’m doing, I have to take a picture every hour”
Brandon: “Thats got to be the weirdest thing I’ve heard all day”
(I’ m still laughing)

6:59p.m
Quick run to the mall to pick up a book for the 13 yr old…..Library didn’t have one, and it’s so SO difficult for him to find something he likes, we didn’t mind the $7 investment…AND while I was there I remembered that I had my broken charmed memory bracelt in my purse, so I took it in, got it replaced, and got my rings cleaned….SCORE!
(I have to admit…I was a little nervous to break out the camera in the middle of the mall all by myself and snap a random photo)

7:55p.m
(Thankfully I made it through Walmart before the phone struck the hour….)
So here I am Picking up crickets for our reptile friends at home….(I visit this place about 3 X’s a week)

 9:00p.m
Arrived in the door with bags in hand as alarm went off…..drop. snap. here. you. go….now who wants to come put this stuff away?

10:04p.m
Getting ready for bed…No picture ON the hour, didn’t think ANYONE would appreciate a shower snapshot…..lol 😉

 11:05p.m
All snuggled into bed, laptop in lap (imagine that) facebook fix, then snugglin’ with my hunny….

Goodnight!

That was fun!!! Why don’t you give it a try….head on over here, there’s a few days left to link up!

    • Haha…..I actually have some pics AND video of us feeding Aristotle….I’ll have to maybe post some to my Facebook….Apollo is shy…won’t eat crickets in front of us, but we can occasionally get him to lick the baby food mixture from the spoon… 😉

  1. I love that your son thought this post was crazy. My boy’s going to be 10 in a couple months… it’s amazing how their attitude changes as they turn into a tween. The thought of him as a teenager makes me want to cry a bit.
