Real…..{Five Minute Friday}

Standard

When last did you write for fun?

Not to impress anyone, not for blog hits or comments or Pinterest pins?

When last did you just write?

On Fridays over here a group of people who love to go all out buck wild for the fun of the written word gather to share what five minutes buys them. Just five minutes. Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking

2. Link back here (over at the gypsy mama) and invite others to join in.

3. Please visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments.

OK, are you ready? Give me your best five minutes on:

Real.

Go….

Am I real?

Am I authentic?

So often do I put on the outward smile to those at church.

Those at the grocery store, and at the school.

But at home….

That is where I’m real.  Real and authentic alright.

But why? Why can’t I always carry that same soft spoken way about me when directing my children,

or debating with my husband?

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
~Proverbs 16:24

Sometimes our tone is Real, and our words are not.
Our attitude is Real, and our words are not.
Our actions are Real, but our words are not.
Our talk is Real, but our prayers are not.

Lord, help me to be Real. To be Authentic. Create in my a clean heart, that it may emit from my being, from my actions, and from my mouth.

Stop.

Join me over at the Gypsy Mama for five minutes of what you got on….Real!

  1. Such good thoughts…I think it can be so easy sometimes to put on a fake smile when I’m in a hurry, not wanting to take the time to be real and authentic. Definitely something for me to think about today. Thanks for sharing. 🙂 Blessings to you!

  4. I have felt that sting as I walked through a store saying Hi to a friend from church at the store….saying Hi as I whisk by them…all the while just barely containing the tears. Why do we “lie” like that?
